I’m too poor to collect comics. You see, I just got through figuring out my taxes. As part of that, I add up how much I spend in comics during the year. I won’t tell you just how far into four figures I actually spent, so I’ll leave it at far too much. In a typical month, here’s what I collect (in no particular order):

Captain America and Falcon (I love Christopher Priest)
Uncanny X-Men, X-men (only because I have them all and I’m a completist)
100 Bullets, Superman (Brian Azzarello)
Powers, Pulse, Daredevil, Ultimate Spider-Man, New Avengers (because Brian Michael Bendis pimps me out)
Ultimates, Wanted, Wolverine (I’ve come a long way with Mark Millar. I’ve come to really enjoy his over the top work)
Conan (I like this book so much, this loving tribute to the Conan novels, I want to dig up some of the original Conan books to read)
Madrox, Hulk (Peter David. Nuff said)
Ultimate X-Men
Astonishing X-Men (Joss Whedon)
Amazing Spider-Man, Strange, Fantastic Four, Rising Stars (J. Michael Straczynski)
Planetary, Ultimate Fantastic Four (Warren Ellis)

When I have extra money (ha!):
District X
Marvel Knights Spider-Man
Legion of Super Heroes
Ex Machina

And I have hopes to buy (or at least get caught up on):
Queen and Country
Y: the last man
The Losers

This doesn’t include the numerous limited series that come out in any given year. And God help me when Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Grant Morrison, and Neil Gaiman start putting out more books this year.

Luckily my wife never reads this thing.
