My other grandfather passed away Monday. I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this later, but the attendant family drama may keep me away from things for a while.

Ernest Broaddus Age 85, passed on August 1, 2005 in Indianapolis. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin, Indiana. He is survived by son, Jerry Broaddus; four sisters, Margaret Jemison, Viola Granger, Virginia Clay and Anna L. Ford; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He retired from International Harvester (now Navistar) after several years of employment. He was a member of the Bethel AME Methodist Church; Past Master of Golden Crown Lodge No. 34 of Indianapolis; a Past Potentate of Tyre Temple No. 129; Past Master and District Deputy of Malta Consistory No. 34; a member of the Shriners; and a member of Prince Hall Masons of Indiana. A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2005 at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin, IN.
